Private Pilots Licence (PPL)

WP_20130516_014

The Private Pilots Licence (Helicopter) or PPL(H) is the first level of licencing that allows you to go out and fly a helicopter on your own, or with passengers. You can fly for fun or you can fly yourself for business purposes. However you cannot be paid to fly. For this you would need the next level of licence, a Commercial Pilots Licence.

We won’t go in to too much detail here, but basically for the PPL(H) you need to do the following:

–   Pass a medical check

–   Pass nine written exams

–   Approximately 50 hours of flight training

–   Pass a flight skills test

For more details on exactly how to obtain your PPL(H) see our PPL fact sheet.

If you have any questions at all about the process involved then get in touch or pop in and see us.
